Warehouse / Shipping Supervisor ($16/Hourly, Opa-Locka FL)

National Concert Lighting Company is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor, ideal candidates would have the following skills:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible, under the direction and supervision of either the Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager, to organize the type, assortment, and quantity of products to be shipped in order to maximize productivity and profit margins for the company.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Warehouse Supervisor will supervise and coordinates the activities of the warehouse associates concerned with receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping of merchandise via Fed-Ex, UPS and/ or Freight Shipments on a daily basis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follows operational procedures as set forth by the Warehouse Manager for the verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory and the facility.

• Train associates on the care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped.

• Advises associates on proper methods and use of material handling equipment.

• Monitors training needs of warehouse associates and assist Management in facilitating training programs for all temps and other warehouse personnel.

• Supervises and participates in ongoing safety programs and weekly meetings.

• Accurately pulls, stages and loads merchandise for warehouse and third party deliveries

• Conducts efficient, friendly and timely will calls for our local customers

• Monitors cleanliness of interior and exterior of warehouse and takes action as required to ensure standards are met. Maintains an orderly warehouse at all times.

• Responsible for upkeep and reporting of equipment

• Maintains various reports for upper Management as needed

• Accountable for accurate receiving and shipping paperwork preparation

• Ethics: Treats people with respect and keeps commitments. Inspires the trust of others. Works ethically and with integrity. Promotes a harassment-free environment.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

• One or two years prior supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center

• Experience and ability to drive both stand up and sit-down forklifts

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and to move heavy objects (up to 700lbs) with proper equipment.

• Excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities and attention to detail is required.

• Advanced skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and other MS programs is preferred.
